Rolex actually first introduced a small number of Cosmograph Yachtmaster in 1965. However, the Yacht-Masters we know today were not introduced until 1992. It has been noted by many watch experts that the Yacht-master is the luxury version of the Submariner (and Sea-Dweller) as it uses the same movement; however, it is only designed to be water resistant to 100m and was first released in 18kt gold (Ref. 16628). Everest bands and accessories on this page are specifically designed for this reference number as well as a few other later models included the Rolesium model (Ref 16622 & 116622) - which was Rolex’s word for a stainless steel and platinum combination and the gold and stainless steel model (Ref. 16623).
